Meaning/Solution
You cannot divide or set a track mark in files in the folders managed under
ˎ ˎ
" Music."
If a memory card has a bad block (BADBLOCK) on it, the card cannot be
ˎ ˎ
written to. Prepare a new memory card to replace the current one.
The file name has reached the maximum number of characters; you cannot
ˎ ˎ
divide the file. Shorten the file name.
The "At All Track Marks" function cannot be used because there is a track
ˎ ˎ
mark within 0.5 seconds of the dividing position.
The "At All Track Marks" function cannot be used because there is a track
ˎ ˎ
mark within 0.5 seconds of the beginning of a file or the end of the file.
The file is too short to divide as the file length is less than 1 second.
ˎ ˎ
The "Divide at This Position" function cannot be used at a position within
ˎ ˎ
0.5 seconds of the beginning or end of a file.
You cannot perform some OPTION menu or Settings menu items during
ˎ ˎ
recording or playback. Try operations after recording or playback is finished.
The batteries have run out. Replace the batteries with new ones (page 20).
A system error has occurred. Remove the batteries or an AC adaptor (not
supplied) to turn off the linear PCM recorder completely, and then turn on the
linear PCM recorder again. If this message appears again, consult with
qualified Sony personnel (see the warranty for contact information).

You cannot operate the linear PCM recorder as the HOLD switch is set to "ON."
(However, you can control the linear PCM recorder with the remote control.)
To operate the linear PCM recorder, set the HOLD switch to "OFF" (page 32).
