Play back a written disc

When you write video files onto a disc, titles and chapters are created at the same time. Also the menu
screen will appear first when playing back the written disc.
Titles and chapters
When you write a disc, the number of the video unit (title) will change depending on the resolution,
playback order, and file combination settings. The following illustration describes before and after
writing seven video files (A to G) onto a disc while the files are set to be combined.
1920 x 1080

Playback order

Title
A video unit to be written on a disc is called "title". The menu screen (P.107) of a written disc will be displayed
by titles. Depending on file combination settings (P.101) , one video file becomes one title, or multiple video
files are combined into one title. Files will be combined to one title if files of the same resolution are played
back in series when written onto a disc.
Chapter
The original file used for writing a disc is called "chapter". When you skip the playback, you will jump to the
conjunction of original files.
When you write an edited video file, the original files used for editing are handled as chapters.
