Performance features

System board
The features of the system board are described in the technical manual for the
system board D2779 for the hardware and in the BIOS Setup manual for the
BIOS.
Slots for expansion cards
The server can be flexibly expanded via four slots:
– two PCIe Gen2 x8
– one PCIe Gen2 x4
– one PCI (32 Bit / 33 MHz; 3.3 V)
PCIe Gen2 doubles the bandwidth of currently existing PCIe busses and allows
improved system performance.
Hard disk drives
Up to four SATA hard disk drives, each with a maximum height of 1 inc h, are built
into the drive rack. There is a wire connection to the controller.
The SATA hard disk drives are controlled by the onboard SATA RAID controller.
The optional SAS controller has to be plugged into one of the I/O slots.
