Troubleshooting
CD/DVD
Symptoms
A CD/DVD does not play
back when loaded.
No sound/picture out-
put
Playback skips.
Some fi les can't play
back.
Delay until playback
starts.
TAG information is not
displayed correctly.
The subtitle is not dis-
played.
The voice (or subtitle)
language cannot be
changed.
The viewing angle can-
not be changed.
The voice or subtitle
language selected in
the initial setting is not
played.
A VCD cannot be played
using menus.

Solution
Load the disc correctly with the label side facing upward.
Clean the disc. (See <Care and Storage>.)
Allow any condensation to evaporate. (See <Be careful of
condensation.)
Press the [CD/DVDD] key.
Clean the disc. (See <Care and Storage>.)
Check every cord for correct connection.
Clean the disc. (See <Care and Storage>.)
The system will not play fi les that are corrupted.
Make sure the fi le is supported for playback on the
system.
There may be a delay prior to playback if there are large
numbers of folders.
Refer to <Supported Audio Files> to check which TAG
information can be displayed on this system.
The subtitle cannot be displayed when the DVD disc be-
ing played does not contain the recording of subtitles.
Press the [SUBTITLE] key to switch on the subtitle mode.
The voice (or subtitle) language cannot be changed
when the DVD disc being played does not contain the
recording of more than 1 voice (or subtitle) language.
The viewing angle cannot be changed when the DVD
disc being played does not contain the recording of
more than 1 angle.
More than 1 viewing angle may be recorded only in
limited sections in a disc.
Use a DVD disc containing the recording of the selected
voice or subtitle language.
Press the [SUBTITLE] or the [AUDIO] key on the remote
and select the language.
The DVD specifi cations provide for selection at the menu
screen. Select at the menu screen of the disc.
Menu playback is available only with VCD discs recorded
with P.B.C.
