5.2.2 Backlash Adjsutment

This section describes Backlash Adjsutment that is to be made after removing the PF
motor. This adjustment provides an appropriate backlash (
motor pinion gear and the gear (76). You need to make this adjustment when you
replace any of the following parts:

PF motor assembly
n
Gear 76
n
PF roller unit
Failure in making this adjustment causes the printer to operate
C A U T I O N
abnormally as described below:
n
If backlash is too little:
1. The PF motor dose not rotate correctly and paper feeding
accuracy declines.
2. Gear 76 and the PF pinion gear make abnormal noises
during printing.
n
If backlash is too large, the PF motor dose not rotate correctly
and paper feeding accuracy declines.
ADJUSTMENT
Before you begin, make sure the following parts are removed:
