Installing and removing drives

The casing can accommodate a total of seven drives:
three accessible drives
(two 5¼ inch drives and one 3½ inch drive)
four non-accessible drives
(3½ inch drives)
"Accessible drives" are for instance DVD drives or multi-card readers into which a data medium can
be inserted from outside. "Non-accessible drives" are for example hard disk drives.
Serial ATA drives and SAS drives
You can install S-ATA drives or SAS drives (Serial Attached SCSI drives) in your device. S-ATA
drives are supported by default (refer also to the manual for the mainboard). Mixed equipment is also
possible. When simultaneously installing S-ATA hard disks and SAS hard disks, you must ensure the
proper assignment of the cables to the corresponding connectors.
The internal wiring of your device is shown in the following wiring diagrams.
