Defaults Menu – Print Settings – Setup Menu(continued)
Menu item
Purpose
Toner Alarm
To specify how the MFP responds
when it is low on toner.
Utilities Menu
Use the Utilities Menu to print a variety of listings relating to available MFP resources, settings, and
print jobs. Other menu items let you set up MFP hardware and troubleshoot problems.
Note: Values marked by an asterisk (*) are the factory default settings.

Defragment
To retrieve storage area lost when
Flash
resources are deleted from flash
memory.
Warning:
while the flash is defragmenting.
Note: This menu item is only
displayed if an optional flash
memory card is installed.

A warning message is
displayed about
replacing the print
cartridge.
MFP stops printing,
displays an error
message, and sounds
three quick beeps.
MFP stops printing,

message, and repeats
three beeps every 10
seconds until the toner
cartridge is replaced.
MFP transfers all
resources stored in flash
memory to MFP
memory and then
reformats the flash
memory option. When
the format operation is
complete, the resources
are loaded back into
flash memory.
MFP cancels the
request to defragment
the flash memory.
