Remove the cylinder (see Cylinder Removal).
Wrap a clean cloth around the base of the piston.
Use the plier [A] and remove the snap ring [B].
Remove the piston by pushing the piston pin and pulling
it out. Use the piston pin puller assembly [A] if the pin is

Remove the piston rings [A]. Carefully spread the ring
opening with your thumbs and then push up on the op-
posite side of the ring to remove it.
The oil ring rails have no "top" or "bottom".
Install the oil ring expander [A] in the bottom piston ring
groove so that the ends [B] but together, never overlap.
Install the oil ring steel rails, one above the expander and
one below it.
Spread the rail with your thumbs, but only enough to fit
the rail over the piston.
Release the rail into the bottom piston ring groove.
Do not mix up the top ring and second ring.
Install the top ring [A] so that the "O" mark [B] faces up.
Install the second ring [C] so that the "N" mark [D] faces
