HP's spherical color toners
The HP Color LaserJet 1500, 2500, 4500, 4550,
4600, 5500, 8500, 8550 and 9500 Series printers
set a new standard in color print quality for the
business printing market. Each printer utilizes advanced
ImageREt 2400 technology to deliver sharp colors that
are more consistent and truer to the human eye.
What makes HP color toners so special?
To help achieve this breakthrough color print quality,
HP uses chemically grown color toners. Most color
toner is mechanically ground, which produces a
faceted toner particle. HP's chemically grown color
toners are spherical in shape, with highly consistent
color from particle to particle. The particles are very
small in size, allowing for very precise placement to
create colors that are more accurate and consistent.
In addition, HP's color toners do not require the use
of oil in the toner fusing process like many competitive
color laser printers. The absence of oil makes these the
first desktop or workgroup color printers to be able to
offer an automatic duplex (two-sided) printing option—
a feature many customers have asked for! And, of course,
toners offer greater print permanence and archival
durability over rival solid wax and inkjet technologies.
The end result of HP's advances in color technology
is long-lasting output that features more colors; finer
photographic details; better transitions between colors;
and solid, smooth area fills—output that gets your
customers noticed.
HP chemically-grown toner: spherical shapes
for consistent color output.
Mechanically-ground toner: irregular shaped
particles can affect consistent quality.
