Close the mobile broadband connection
Close your mobile broadband connection while, for example, traveling
abroad, and you can save on data costs.
1. Swipe in from the right of the screen, and tap
Network.
2. Turn Mobile broadband Off
Set mail download to manual
To help save on data costs, set your tablet to check for new mail by
request only.
1. Swipe up, and tap Mail.
2. Swipe in from the right of the screen, and tap
Accounts.
3. For each account, tap the account name, and turn Download new
email to manual.
Prevent downloading over metered connections
To avoid extra charges, you can prevent your tablet from downloading
device software, such as drivers and apps, while using metered Internet
connections. If your network service provider charges by the amount of
data you send and receive, you have a metered connection.
1. Swipe in from the right of the screen, and tap
Change PC settings > PC and devices > Devices.
2. Turn Download over metered connections Off

Use the on-screen keyboard
Writing with the on-screen keyboard is easy and fun. You can use the
keyboard when holding your tablet in portrait or landscape mode.

Switch between upper and lower case characters
Tap the shift key. To turn caps lock on, double-tap the key. To return to
normal mode, tap the shift key again.
