Attach the grounding end (usually a piece of copper foil or an alligator
clip) to an electrical ground. An electrical ground can be a piece of metal
that literally runs into the ground (such as an unpainted metal pipe) or a
metal part of a grounded electrical appliance. An appliance is grounded if
it has a three-prong plug and is plugged into a three-prong grounded outlet.
You cannot use the computer itself as a ground, because it is unplugged
when you work on it.
The following cautions and warning apply to all installation procedures
described in this chapter.
Inserting or removing modules with power applied may result
in damage to module components.
Dangerous voltages, capable of causing death, are present in
this equipment. Use extreme caution when handling, testing,
and adjusting.
Avoid touching areas of integrated circuitry; static discharge
can damage these circuits.
