9. MAINTENANCE
DRIVE CLUTCH CABLE ADJUSTMENT
1. Measure free play at the top of the lever, as shown. Free play should be
3/16-3/8 in (5-10 mm).
2. If adjustment is necessary, loosen the lock nuts with a 10 mm wrench,
and move the adjuster up or down as required. Tighten the lock nuts and
recheck free play.
3. Start the engine and operate the drive clutch lever. Check to be sure the
drive clutch engages and releases properly. If the drive clutch does not
operate properly, and lever free play is correctly adjusted, take the mower
to an authorized Honda lawn mower dealer for repair.
