    〈 GXV670 〉 AIR CLEANER FUEL FILTER SPARK PLUG ELECTRIC STARTER SPARK PLUG FEATURES Fuel-cut Solenoid The engine is equipped with a fuel-cut solenoid that allows fuel to flow to the carburetor main jet when the engine switch is in the ON or START position and stops the flow of fuel to the main jet when the engine switch is in the OFF position.

    OPERATION SAFE OPERATING PRECAUTIONS Before operating the engine for the first time, please review the SAFETY INFORMATION section on page and the BEFORE OPERATION CHECKS on page . For your safety, do not operate the engine in an enclosed area such as a garage.

    RECOIL STARTER (applicable types): Pull the starter grip lightly until you feel resistance, then pull briskly in the direction of the arrow as shown below. Return the starter grip gently. Direction to pull Do not allow the starter grip to snap back against the engine. Return it gently to prevent damage to the starter.

    SERVICING YOUR ENGINE THE IMPORTANCE OF MAINTENANCE Good maintenance is essential for safe, economical and trouble- free operation. It will also help reduce pollution. Improper maintenance, or failure to correct a problem before operation, can cause a malfunction in which you can be seriously hurt or killed. Always follow the inspection and maintenance recommendations and schedules in this owner’s manual.

    AIR CLEANER A dirty air cleaner will restrict air flow to the carburetor, reducing engine performance. If you operate the engine in very dusty areas, clean the air filter more often than specified in the MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE. Operating the engine without an air filter, or with a damaged air filter, will allow dirt to enter the engine, causing rapid engine wear.

    SPARK PLUG Recommended Spark Plugs: ZGR5A (NGK) J16CR-U (DENSO) The recommended spark plugs have the correct heat range for normal engine operating temperatures. Incorrect spark plugs can cause engine damage. For good performance, the spark plugs must be properly gapped and free of deposits.
