The figures described in this section are based on typical incandescent light
sources. The values vary considerably with the use of other light sources. For
example, the light from a mercury vapor lamp contains very little IR light;
therefore, the apparent sensitivity of the night mode with mercury vapor lighting
is not as great as with incandescent lighting.
The ACUIX PTZ dome application firmware controls the NightShot (TDN)
function of the 18× and 26× camera blocks that are part of your ACUIX scan
assembly. The firmware controls this by monitoring the video gain and shutter
time. You can also configure the specific values at which the camera switches
from day mode to night mode and from night mode to day mode using the
on-screen display (OSD) menus [from the OSD, select 5 Camera Options > 3
NightShot Control]. See
