5. Perform the appropriate action based on whether you are using DHCP.
If you are using DHCP, enable it by selecting DHCP enable and clicking Apply.
If you are not using DHCP, uncheck the DHCP Enable check box, enter the appropriate information in the IP
Address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway fields, and click Apply.
6. Click the Reload Settings button to view the new IP address. It could take up to three minutes for the settings to
reload.

Connecting the Embedded Switch Module to the Ethernet network

The Embedded Switch Module has one external port and two internal ports that interact with the chassis. Once you
have successfully set the appropriate IP address of the Embedded Switch Module, you can establish an Ethernet
connection using one of two methods:
The PRIMERGY BX900 Management Blade application through an internal port.
Through the external Fabric port.

Connecting the Embedded Switch Module through an internal port

The internal Ethernet connection is the default configuration and no action is required.

shows the default port control setting on the PRIMERGY BX900 Management port.
