• Face Detection is
automatically turned Off
when:
– Program AE is set to
“Portrait”, “Spotlight”,
“Sand & Snow” or “Low
Light”. (When the Program
AE setting is not “Auto”,
pressing
will

automatically set Program
AE to “Auto”.)
– BLC (Backlight
Compensation),
f (
: Exposure) or
e (MF: Manual Focus) is
pressed. (During a recording
session with one of these
functions, pressing
will
automatically turn it Off.)
Notes
• Face Detection is not available for
recording on a DVD disc.
• Depending on the subjects, Face
Detection may falsely recognize non-
facial feature regions as a face.
• Some filming/photographing
environments may not allow Face
Detection to work properly. In this
case, turn Face Detection Off.

You can display recording guidelines
to help compose your shots.
Turning recording
guidelines On/Off
During recording pause, press

MENU.
Select “Camera Functions

Setup”
“Auxiliary Line”
“On”/“Off”
Press the confirmation button
to confirm, then MENU to end.

When “On” is selected, vertical
and horizontal guidelines appear
in the LCD monitor.

Reducing Wind Noise
During Recording
When recording sound from the built-
in microphone, you can reduce wind
noise in the recording when the MIC.
filter is On. Lower frequencies noise
is eliminated and the target sound
becomes clearer.

During recording pause, press

MENU.
