set ip telnet
Changes the TCP port number on which a DWS-1008 switch listens for Telnet management
traffic.
Caution: If you change the Telnet port number from a Telnet session, MSS immediately ends the
session. To open a new management session, you must Telnet to the switch with the new Telnet
port number.
Syntax: set ip telnet port-num
port-num
TCP port number.
Defaults: The default Telnet port number is 23.
Access: Enabled.
Examples: The following command changes the Telnet port number on a DWS-1008 switch to
5000:
DWS-1008# set ip telnet 5000
success: change accepted.

Caution: If you disable the Telnet server, Telnet access to the switch is also disabled.

Defaults: The Telnet server is disabled by default.
Access: Enabled.
