EasyStartup

The ThinkServer EasyStartup program simplifies the process of installing the
operating system and device drivers on your server by performing the following
tasks:
v Detects installed hardware devices
v the network administrator through the process of creating a response file
v Enables you to create scripts or commands that run at the end of the installation
v Facilitates the installation of the ThinkServer EasyUpdate program and
v Prepares the hard disk for installation
v Prepares the hard disk for installation
v Prompts the network administrator to insert the operating-system installation
v Initiates an unattended installation of the operating system and device drivers
The EasyStartup program is provided with your server on DVD. The DVD is self
starting (bootable). The User Guide for the EasyStartup program is on the DVD
and can be accessed directly from the program's interface. For additional
information, see "Using the ThinkServer EasyStartup DVD" on page 63.

ThinkServer EasyUpdate software

The ThinkServer EasyUpdate program allows you to download and install updates
for your specific server or server systems. Updates can be device drivers, BIOS and
firmware updates, or software updates. EasyUpdate gets these updates from one of
the following locations:
v The Lenovo Help Center Web site
v A repository on your network. This repository contains a combination of

ThinkServer Mini-EasyUpdate

The ThinkServer Mini-EasyUpdate program allows you to create self-installing
update packages. These packages contain the Mini-EasyUpdate program along
with a local repository. This program runs directly from a folder without requiring
any installation process. When it finishes installing the applicable packages, you
only need to delete the Mini-EasyUpdate folder to remove all files associated with
the program and the associated repository.
