Periodic maintenance chart for the emission control system

ROUTINE
• Check and adjust valve clearance
when engine is cold.
• Check condition.
• Adjust gap and clean.
• Replace at 8,000 mi (13,000 km) or
12 months.
• Check ventilation hose for cracks or
damage.
• Replace if necessary.
• Check fuel hoses for cracks or
damage.
• Replace if necessary.
• Replace.
• Check for leakage.
• Tighten if necessary.
• Replace gasket(s) if necessary.
• Adjust synchronization of carburetors.
• Check and adjust engine idle speed.
• Adjust cable free play.
• Check control system for damage.
• Replace if necessary.
