Information about the COM port

A COM port is a serial interface on the PC. It can be used to connect external devices
such as a mouse with the PC.
A PC has several COM ports:
COM 1, COM 2: Hardware-side, sockets on the PC for connecting devices with a
u
serial connection
COM 3 etc.: software side, virtual interfaces that can be assigned to devices with
u
USB connections
Your Gigaset USB Adapter uses one of the software-side interfaces, e.g. COM 3 or
COM 4.

Information about operating the adapter

If you use a Gigaset USB Adapter, you cannot use the channel bundling and fax functions
of your Gigaset base station. Two PCs (one wireless, the other via USB) can however surf
the Internet at the same time.
