Unsuitable installation

Do not install the projector in the following
situations. These installations may cause
malfunction or damage to the projector.
Poorly ventilated areas
• Allow adequate air circulation to prevent
internal heat buildup. Do not place the
projector on surfaces or near materials that
may block the ventilation holes. Internal
heat buildup due to blockage of the
ventilation holes may cause a malfunction.
Do not block the
part of the projector.

• Leave a space of more than 20 cm (7

• Be careful that the ventilation holes do not
inhale tiny objects such as pieces of paper.
• If you put something behind the projector,
where ventilation holes are located, the
exhaust may be circulated into the
projector through the ventilation holes at
the bottom, causing the internal
temperature to rise, which may cause a
malfunction. Install the projector so that
the exhaust is not blocked.
• Do not install the projector in a confined
space.
Hot and humid areas
Avoid installing the projector in a location
where the temperature or humidity is very
high, or the temperature is very low.
If you install the projector on the ceiling,
keep the temperature near the intake
ventilation holes under 35 ºC (95 ºF).
Very dusty areas
Avoid installing the projector in a location
20°
where there is a lot of dust; otherwise, the
or more
air filter will clog. The dust blocking the air
through the filter may cause the internal heat
level of the projector to rise. Periodically
replace the filter with a new one.
Use at high altitudes
20°
or more
When using the projector at an altitude of
1,500 m or higher, turn on "High Altitude
Mode" in the MENU SETTING menu. Failing
to set this mode when using the projector at
high altitudes could have adverse effects,
such as reducing the reliability of certain
components.

Improper use

Do not do any of the following.
Standing the projector on its side
Avoid using the projector standing on its
side. This may cause a malfunction.
Tilting front/rear and right/left
20°
or more
20°
or more
20°
or more
Avoid using the projector tilted at an angle of
more than 20 degrees. Do not install the
projector anywhere other than on a level
surface or on the ceiling. Improper
installation of the projector may cause a
malfunction.
Blocking the ventilation holes
Avoid using something that covers over the
ventilation holes; otherwise, internal heat
may rise and cause a malfunction.
