Example commands to validate vpc settings
With the Cisco Nexus 5000 series switch, one way the vPC configuration can be validated is by using:
show vpc
brief. This command will display the following items that are key to the vPC behavior:
·
vPC domain id – which should match the domain id you previously configured.
·
peer status – peer adjancency formed ok must show here or there is a configuration error.
·
vPC keep-alive status – this will display that the peer is alive.
·
Configuration consistency status – this will show success when vPC is working.
·
vPC role – this will aid in determining if the switch is the primary if the role priority was not
manually configured, or it will show if there is an error in which switch is acting as primary.
·
Number of vPC configured – this will the number of vPC links configured.
·
vPC Peer-link status – this will status of the peer-link including the active VLAN's crossing that
peer-link.
·
vPC status – this is an overview of some of the previous information, showing the ID, port,
status, consistency, reason, and active VLAN's
switch(config)#
