6 Place the cartridge on a flat surface, hold it firmly with
one hand and with the other hand grasp the end tab of
the sealing tape and pull the tape straight out
horizontally.
If pulled at an angle, the tape may break. After
pulling out the tape, do not shake the cartridge or
subject it to shocks.
7 Holding the cartridge as shown, lower it into the printer,
inserting the cartridge's two projecting parts into the
printer's guide channels.
Be sure to push the cartridge all the way into the
printer.
8 Slowly close the front cover. Press the center part of the
top cover until it latches into place.
If the envelope feeder was removed, reinstall it and power

on the printer.
10 Check the Control Panel display. Wait until
displayed. If an error message appears, refer to Table 5.1
on page 5-4 for instructions.
11 Recycle the used cartridge using the packaging from the
new cartridge, following the directions provided.
