Create a "12-2" Virtual Mixdown:

The D12 features a number of ways to bounce multiple tracks, including an exclusive "12-2" function that lets you bounce multiple
12-track mixes to selected Virtual track pairs, with varied effects and EQ, and then select your favorite mixdown from the Virtual
tracks.
Copy the demo song "I CAN'T WAIT" to a new song location:
Press [SONG/CD] until you select the "SelSong" tab.

Rotate the [DIAL] to the left, to select and load the original demo song "I001:I CAN'T WAIT".

Press [SONG/CD] until you select the "EditSong" tab, then rotate the [DIAL] to the left, to select "CopySong".

The "edit cell" to the left of "Exec." will indicate the next available empty song location. u to the "Exec." button, then press

ENTER, and u to "Yes" and press
the "EditSong" tab.
u to highlight "CopySong", and rotate the [DIAL] to select "ProtectSong".

u to the "Exec." button and press

Perform a Virtual "16-2" mixdown:
Press [RECORD] (to the left of [TRACK]) until you select the "RecMode" tab.

u to "Bounce" and press ENTER.

Press [RECORD] until you select the "Bounce" tab, then u to the "12Tr>2Tr" radio button and press ENTER.

u to highlight the "edit cell" "Current" and rotate the [DIAL] to set to " b " (Virtual track "b"). This sets the bounce

destination Virtual track.
Press [SCENE] (lit) until you select the "MixView" tab. Move the Channel 11/12 fader and BALANCE knob so that the

original values for each are displayed. When the fader and BALANCE knob reach the original positions, the arrows above the
MixView display will "double", indicating that original values have been recalled.
Note:
Tracks 11/12 were selected for this bounce exercise because the original Balance position was centered, as a stereo pair.
With these track destinations, the Virtual mixdown will include all track original pan settings, and end up mixed in full stereo
imaging. But bouncing to other existing tracks within the same Song can be a problem, since the destination tracks may have
panning, level and effect assignments which you don't want your final mix to play through. For that reason we suggest that
whenever possible you use our ultra-cool "Copy to Clipboard, then to a new song" exercise in the following section after
bouncing your final song to two tracks.. Let's continue...
