The right selection key (
usually takes you back to the
previous menu level in the menu
functions. In standby mode, the
function of this key depends on the
settings made with the
shortcuts
menu under the
menu, see page 44. In standby mode,
this key is

if no other
functions are assigned to it.
■ Standby mode and
display indicators
When the phone is ready for use and
you have not keyed in any
characters, the phone is in standby
mode. The following indicators are
shown in standby mode. Other
essential indicators are described
throughout this guide.
1. Shows the name of the network
in which the phone is being used,
or the operator logo.

2. Shows the signal strength of the
cellular network at your current
location. The higher the bar, the
stronger the signal.
The indicator below the bar is
when you are using the phone in
a UMTS network.
3. Shows the battery charge level.
The higher the bar, the more
power in the battery.

Putting on the wrist strap

Thread the strap as shown in the
picture and then tighten it.
Using the Nokia HS-3
headset
Connect the compatible headset to
the Pop Port connector of your
phone.
Warning! This headset may
affect your ability to hear
sounds around you. Do not
use this headset in
situations that may
endanger your safety.
