Tailstock

the tailstock is typically used to support long
workpieces at the opposite end of the spindle,
using a center. it can hold a drill chuck (not includ-
ed) with a regular drill bit for boring holes. unlike
boring done with a drill press where the workpiece
is fixed and the drill bit rotates, the drill bit in a
tailstock remains stationary while the workpiece
is rotated by the spindle.
the entire tailstock can be repositioned and
locked in place along the length of the bed with
the tailstock lock screw.
the tailstock quill features a handwheel that
moves it toward or away from the spindle in a pre-
cise manner; it is locked with the quill lock screw.
