sSearching the available PTY
Available PTY search lets you see the list of available PTYs that is in the current ensemble
and select one of them to receive.

Available PTY search function is different from PTY search function. With Pioneer AV Head
Unit (AVH-P6400CD or AVH-P6400R), you can operate only the available PTY search.
1 Press 5 or ∞ to select "AVAILABLE PTY SEARCH" from the DAB TUNER MENU, and
press A.MENU (AUDIO) button.
2 Press 5 or ∞ to select a program type.
3 Press A.MENU (AUDIO) button to begin the search.

The PTY method displayed is narrow. The wide method cannot be selected when using
DAB as the source.

If there is no available PTY in the current ensemble, you cannot switch to the available PTY
search mode.

If no service broadcasting the selected programming type is found, "NOT FOUND" is dis-
played briefly, and the DAB tuner returns to the previous service.
sService component function
If the currently received Service has a Secondary Service Component ("EXTRA" indicator
lights), Service Component switching is possible.
1 Press 5 or ∞ to select "PRIMARY/SECONDARY" from the DAB TUNER MENU, and
press A.MENU (AUDIO) button.
2 Press 2 2 2 2 or 3 to select the item you want to adjust.
sService Follow Function
If reception of the selected Service worsens,this automatically searches for other Ensemble
supporting the same Service. Depending on conditions, an Ensemble supporting Alarm and
Road Traffic Flash is received.
1 Press 5 or ∞ to select "SF (SERVICE FOLLOW)" from the DAB TUNER MENU, and
press A.MENU (AUDIO) button.
2 Press 2 2 2 2 or 3 to select "ON" or "OFF".
Service Follow Function (FM)
When an Ensemble that supports the same Service can't be found, or when reception condi-
tions are poor, the Service Follow Function switches to an identical FM broadcast. However,
switching is not possible if reception of a station broadcasting an identical FM transmission is
poor, doesn't exist or is not cross-referenced by the DAB station.
During FM reception, if DAB finds a Service identical to the original Service, and reception
is better, DAB reception resumes.
Selection is then performed in line with the Service Component selected with the first Serv-
ice.

Switch the Service Follow Function ON, and the Service Follow Function (FM) is automati-
cally switched ON.

The Service Follow Function (FM) is a DAB function. If the initial source you listen to is RDS
(FM), there's no switching to DAB.
➲
Even if you switch to an FM broadcast, the button only functions during DAB operation.
