Read the following instructions to insure proper fresh air for this VENTILATION and other fuel-burning appliances in your home. Today’s homes are built more energy efficient than ever.

Space: Includes the room in which you will install fireplace plus any adjoining rooms with doorless passageways or ventilation grills between the rooms.

When ventilating to an adjoining unconfined space, you must provide two permanent openings: one within 12" of the ceiling and one within 12" of the floor on the wall connecting the two spaces (see VENTILATION options 1 and 2, Figure 3).

This makes the front of fireplace flush with wall. If installing a mantel above the fireplace, but you must follow the clearances shown in Figure 15, page 15.

Make sure fireplace screen is installed before running fireplace. NOTICE During initial operation of new fireplace, burning logs will give off a paper-burning smell.     INSPECTING Check pilot flame pattern and burner flame patterns often. PILOT FLAME PATTERN BURNERS Figure 29 shows a correct pilot flame pattern. Figure 30 shows an incorrect pilot flame pattern. The incorrect pilot flame is not touching the thermocouple. This will cause the thermocouple to cool.
