    Every active device connected to the TCP/IP network must have a unique IP address. This IP address is used to reference a specific device, for example, to build a connection to the VMSE’s serial port. See Appendix A for a complete description of IP Addressing. GFK-1852...

    To enter configuration mode, the power on the VMSE must be cycled (powered off and back on). After power-up, the self-test begins. About a second later, three lowercase ‘x’ characters must be sent to the VMSE. These characters must all be sent within approximately one second to start the configuration mode. GFK-1852...
