CAP
The cartridge access port (CAP) is an assembly that allows you to enter or eject cartridges to or from the
library without interrupting normal library operations.
Cell
A slot in the tape library that is used to store a tape cartridge. The client software locates data cartridges by
panel, column, row, and cell.
Client
This is the communications from the library to the processor.
Community
Each SNMP managed object belongs to a community. A community is defined by a community name.
Once the community name is validated then agent or manager checks to see if sending address is permitted
or has the rights for the requested operation.
Control Path
The communication pathway that allows the client to request operations and status information of the
library.
Data Path
This communication pathway allows the drives to exchange data with the client.
Demo Loop
CAUTION: Audit update required: If DEMO MODE is interrupted, Get-Put Loop operations will
become disrupted, and cartridges may not be returned to their original locations. When
DEMO MODE completes, you must IPL to re-audit the library, and your backup
software applications . You must then notify the customer to update the host cartridge
database

The Demo Mode (demonstration mode) tests the functionality of the robot.

When the library is in demonstration mode, the hand unloads a cartridge from a storage cell,
rotates around the Z and theta axes, and load the cartridge back to a different storage cell.

The maximum number of loops is 2,000.
To set the Demo loop, select:
MAINTENANCE->DIAGNOSTICS
Drive ID
The number that the library assigns the drive.
