The options for the command:

Meaning
The nPartition to modify. The nPartition id can be
specified as an nPartition number or an nPartition name.
If the specified nPartitionId has only numeric characters,
it is considered as an nPartition number. If an nPartition
name is provided, it should have at least one of the
following non-numeric characters

A-Z

- (dash)
◦
_ (underscore)
◦
. (period)
Any other non-numeric character is not allowed in an
nPartition name.
Add a blade or I/O resource to the nPartition.
Modify the attributes of the blade(s) or I/O resource(s)
in the specified nPartition.
Delete the specified blade(s) or I/O resources from the
nPartition. If the blade which is being deleted is an
active blade then after the execution of the parmodify
command the user must reboot the nPartition for the
change to take place. If the nPartition is running vPars,
individual vPars have to be shutdown and the nPartition
rebooted for the change to take effect.
If the partition is inactive, specify that the nPartition be
booted.
Specifies a new name for the nPartition. An nPartition
name, should have at least one of the following
non-numeric characters:

Any other non-numeric character is not allowed in an
nPartition name.
Specifies the amount of non-interleaved memory per
socket
The partition specification to modify. When this option
is specified all other command options are applied to
the specified parspec and not to any nPartition. The –p
and –z options are mutually exclusive. The –z option
applies only to alternate parspecs. When –p option is
specified, the current parspec for the nPartition gets
modified.
