Chapter 6 Technical Descriptions
The Dynamics Area
• GATE
• EXPANDER
• COMPRESSOR
• LIMITER
• SIDE-CHAIN EQUALISER
The names of these functions appear in small display windows on the
panel. By pressing the ACCESS button to one side of the window, control
of that function is assigned to the six knobs at the top of the panel.
The following diagram shows an example in which the ACCESS button
has been pressed for the GATE and its controls are now available on the
panel. It can be switched in and out of circuit by pressing the IN button.
The diagram also shows how, as each ACCESS button is pressed, the Free
Assign area of the panel is assigned to the function selected.
By switching between ACCESS buttons, the six knobs are being paged to
control the different functions which are being accessed.
A dynamics page is available on the channel screens displaying the
settings for each process and a graphical representation of the processing
on that signal.
The IN button below the window selected to DYN on the Input Channel &
Inserts section can be used as a master in/out switch for the whole
dynamics section.
