Conventions used in this manual

Descriptions of features and options generally
precede procedure steps. You may need to
combine several procedures to achieve
desired results.
This manual uses a number of symbols to
help you identify various kinds of information.
These symbols are described below.
The 1, 2, 3 symbol indicates the beginning of
a procedure. Be sure to follow steps carefully
in the order given.
NOTE: Notes provide extra information that
may be helpful to your understanding or
performance of procedures.
KEY POINT: The key symbol draws your
attention to important additional information,
hints, or tips.
WARNING: This symbol alerts you to an oper-
ating or maintenance procedure, practice, or
condition, that, if not strictly observed, could
result in injury or loss of life.
WARNING: This Hot Surface symbol warns
you of an area that may be very hot and would
cause personal injury if touched.
CAUTION: This symbol alerts you to an
operating or maintenance procedure, practice,
or condition that, if not strictly observed, could
result in damage to or destruction of
equipment or loss of data.
