Clean-OutTool
Proceed a sfollowsto utilizethe manual c hutecontrol:

Remove t he cotterpin fromeitherof the holesfurthestfromthe chute
assembly o n the chutecontrol h ead.
Pushinthe chutecontrol r oduntil the holein it linesupwith the third hole
inthe chutecontrolhead.SeeFigure 17.

ReJnsert the cotterpinthroughthisholeandthe chutecontrolrodasshown
in Figure 17.
4.
Grasp the indented portionof the chutecontrol r odandmanually rotatethe
chuteto the rightor to the left. See Figure 18.

Neveruseyour handsto cleara cloggedchuteassembly.Shutoff engine
andremainbehindhandlesuntil all moving parts havestopped before
using the clean-outtool to clearthe chuteassembly.
Thechuteclean-out t ool isconveniently f astened to the rearof the augerhousing
with a mountingclip.Should snowandicebecome lodgedinthe chuteassembly
duringoperation, p roceed asfollowsto safely cleanthe chuteassembly andchute
opening:
1.
Release b oththeAugerControl a ndthe DriveControl.
2.
Stopthe enginebyremoving the ignitionkey.
3.
Remove t he clean-out t ool fromthe clip whichsecures it to the rearof the
augerhousing.
4.
Use the shovel-shaped endof theclean-outtool to dislodge andscoop any
snowandicewhichhasformedinandnearthe chuteassembly.
5.
Refasten t he clean-out t ool to the mountingclip onthe rearof the auger
housing,reinsert t he ignitionkeyandstart thesnowthrower'sengine.
6.
Whilestandinginthe operator's position(behindthe snowthrower), e ngage
the augercontrol f orafew seconds t o clearanyremaining snowandicefrom
the chuteassembly.
Before Starting Engine
Read,understand,andfollow all instructionsandwarnings on the
machineand inthis manualbeforeoperating.
Oil
Theunit wasshipped with oil in the engine.Check o il levelbefore eachoperationto
ensureadequate oil inthe engine.
NOTE: Besureto check the engineona levelsurface with theenginestopped.
1.
Remove t he oil filler cap/dipstick andwipethe dipstick clean.
2.
Insertthe cap/dipstick intothe oil filler neck,but doNOT screwit in.
3.
Remove t he oil filler cap/dipstick. I f the levelislow,slowlyaddoil (5W-30,
with a minimumclassification of SF/SG) until oil levelregisters betweenhigh
(H)andlow (L).
NOTE: D onot overfill.Overfillingwithoil mayresultinenginesmoking, h ard
startingorsparkplugfouling.
4.
Replace a ndtighten cap/dipstick f irmly before startingengine.
