Turn off and unplug vacuum cleaner
before performing maintenance to the
vacuum cleaner. Failure to do so could
result in electrical shock or personal
injury from the vacuum cleaner
suddenly starting.
,_ CAUTION
Do not plug in or turn on until the vacuum
cleaner is completely reassembled.
1. Remove PowerMate ® cover as shown in BELT
CHANGING AND AGITATOR CLEANING
section.

2. Remove the light
bulb by pulling
straight out.
CAUTION
Do not use a bulb rated over 9W
(13V). During extended use, heat from
the bulb could overheat surrounding
plastic parts.
Push in
to right
3. To replace the
light bulb, carefully
insert fully into slot.
4. Reinstall PowerMate ® cover as shown in
BELTCHANGING AND AGITATOR CLEANING
section.
NOTE: See PARTSAND FEATURESfor Bulb
number.
AGITATOR SERVICING
TO REPLACE AGITATOR ASSEMBLY

TO CHECK THE BRUSHES
Base Support Bars
When brushes are
worn to the level
of the base
support bars,
replace the
agitator assembly.
1. Remove Power-Mate ® cover, belt and agitator
assembly. See "To Remove Belt" in BELT
CHANGING AND AGITATOR CLEANING.
2. Replace agitator assembly.
3. Reinstall belt and Power-Mate® cover. See
"To replace belt" in BELTCHANGING AND
AGITATOR CLEANING.
