Subscriber Identity Modules (SIM) identify users uniquely through an International Mobile Subscriber Identity.
 
CAUTION:
Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions in the Product Information Guide.
NOTE:
Only Cingular and Vodafone need a SIM. Verizon, Sprint, and Telus do not use SIMs.

NOTICE:
To help prevent damage to the system board, you must remove the battery from the battery bay before you begin working inside the
computer.
If you ordered a wireless Mini Card with your computer, the card is already installed. Your computer supports three types of wireless Mini Cards:
 Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN)

 Ultra Wide Band (UWB)
l
 Mobile Broadband or Wireless Wide Area Network (WWAN)
l
 

Removing a WLAN Card

 
1. Follow the procedures in

2. Turn the computer over.
 
3. Loosen the two captive screws on the Mini Card module cover and remove the cover.
