INSTALLING NON.ADHESIVE SANDPAPER
See Figurc 3.
DISCONNECT SANDER FROM POWER SUPPLY
1. Remove dust skirt. (See Removing Dust Skirt,
Page 4.).

3. Insert end of new 1/3 sheet sandpaper approx-
imalely 1 /2 inch under the paper clamp.

DISCONNECT SANDER FROM POWER SUPPLY.
1. lf replacing sandpaper, remove old sandpaper by
pe e l i n g i t of f c us hi on. l f r emo vin g r e g ul a r sa n d-
paper, dust skirt must be removed. Then release
paper clamp by rotating lever out and litting up,
disengaging it from the platen. Remove non-
adhesive paper, release lever, and rotate it to lock
po s i t i o n .
2. Carefully peel adhesive backing from new 1/3
sheet sandpaper.
3. Position sandpaper into place, then carefully
press slicky side ot sandpaper on cushion.
SANDPAPER SELECTION
Selecting the correct size grit and type sandpaper is
an e x t r em e l y i m por t ant s tep i n a ch ie vin g a h ig h
qua l i ty s anded f i ni s h. A lum i num o xid e , silic o n ca r -
bide, and other synthetic abrasives are best for
power sanding. Naiural abrasives, such as flint and
garnet sandpaper are too soft for economical use in
power sanding.
In general, coarse grit will remove the most material
a nd fi ner gr i t w i l l p r oduce the best fin ish in a ll sa n d -
ing operations. The condition of the surface to be
sanded will determine which grit sandpaper will do
the job. ll the surface is rough, start with a coarse
g rit pa p e r s andi ng unti l s ur fac e is u n ito rm . M ed i u m
grit paper may then be used to remove scratches lelt
by the coarser paper and finer grit paper used for
finishing of lhe surtace. Always continue sanding
with each grit paper until surface is uniform.
LUERICATION
All the bearings in this tool are lubricated with a suf-
ticienl amount ol high grade lubricant for the life of
t he un it u n d er nor m al oper a tin g co n d it io n s,
therefore, no further lubrication is required.
