Using Commercial Software
Many commercial software packages offer a wide variety of print
features, including some features that are not supported by this
printer. For example, software often provides a wider range of font
sizes than the printer can accommodate. Software also allows you to
specify multiple fonts on a page and multicolor printing. To
determine which features your software supports and how to select
them, refer to your software documentation.
Using the Control Panel
Use the FONT button and the MENU button to directly select one of
the menus and one of the fonts listed on the printer control panel:
• Select one of the two menus
• Select one of the nine resident fonts
The MENU button specifies MENU1 or MENU2, either of which
allows you to specify different sets of options in advance. Some of the
print features include emulation, print quality, character pitch, and
line spacing.
The FONT button specifies one of the nine resident fonts defined by
font names and pitches on the control panel. The selectable resident
fonts are Courier 10, Prestige 12, Compressed 17, Boldface PS, Timeless
PS, Nimbus Sans. PS, Draft 10, Draft 12, and High-speed Draft 10.
If you select LOCKED, the printer will ignore font commands from
the computer and continue to use the font specified by the control
panel. Press the LOCK button to select LOCKED.
