    Loading the Battery Battery is required to operate the digital camera. At first, load the battery in the camera. Z Compatible battery Rechargeable Battery NP-40 (1) Terminals CAUTION • The battery is not fully charged at shipment and must be fully charged before being used.

    Loading the xD-Picture Card Although you can store pictures in the camera’s internal memory, you can store many more images on the xD- Picture Card (sold separately). There is a slot for the xD- Picture Card inside the battery compartment. Open the battery cover.

    * Self-Timer The self-timer is used in situations where the photographer is included in the shot. When photographer is away from the camera, place the camera on a stable surface to prevent camera fall.
