T he following illus tration shows the path that print media travels through the printer. T he path varies depending
on the input s ource (trays, multipurpose feeder, envelope feeder) and output bins (finis her, s tacker, expander,
mailbox) you are us ing.

C learing printer jams
Although there are s everal places a jam can occur, clearing the paper path is fairly eas y depending on the jam
mes sage or mes sages dis played on the operator panel.
Paper jams can occur in three areas: the front of the printer, ins ide the printer, and at the rear of the printer. J ams
in the front of the printer occur in the input options or the duplex tray. J ams ins ide the printer occur in two
locations and require the removal of the print cartridge. J ams can also occur at the rear of the printer or in one of
the output options.
Note: T he following clearing jam instructions may s eem out of s equence. However, they have been grouped to
help you quickly clear the print path.
