    Overview Overview Introduction The MFGD 5421, BARCO’s 21” 5 megapixel grayscale LCD display, guarantees perfect image quality in medical imaging applications.     How to avoid image retention How to avoid image retention Image retention (image sticking, ghost image) is the phenomenon where an image, or a part of it, seems to be ‘burnt’ in the LCD panel. When you display e.g. a uniform light gray image you distinguish the ghost image in the background.

However, when really necessary, you can perform the cleaning on site if you can work in conditions that are as clean and dust- free as possible.
