If the instrument is to be shipped to a
Hewlett-Packard Sales/Service Office, attach a tag show-
ing owner, return address, model number and full serial
number and the type of service required. The original
shipping carton and packaging material may be re-usable
but the Hewlett-Packard Sales/Service office will also
provide information and recommendations on materials
to be used if the original packing is not available or
re-usable. General instructions for re-packing are as fol-
lows:
1. Wrap instrument in heavy paper or plastic
2.
Use strong shipping container. A double-
wall carton made of 350-pou nd test material
is adequate.
3. Use enough shock-absorbing material (3
(
to 4 inch layer) around all sides of instru-
ment to provide firm cushion and prevent
movement inside container. Protect control
panel with cardboard.
4. Seal shipping container securely.
5. Mark shipping container F RAG I LE to
encourage careful handling.
6. In any correspondence, refer to instru-
ment by model number and full serial num-
ber.
