To configure Context Switches (Per Second)
1. On the Express5800/320Ma Monitored Instances tab, click Context Switches
(Per Second) in the Select Instance box.
2. If Enable alerts for selected instance is not checked, check it.
3. In Scan poll rate (in seconds), enter the number of seconds to scan the instance.
The default is 300.
4. In Email Alert ID, select the alert to send in the event of a threshold violation. This
will be either the default alert ID or one you
second overload.)
5. In Program to launch (optional), click the ellipsis (...) to browse to and select the
program. Click Open to select the program.
6. Check Scan Retry, if it is not already checked, and enter values for:
Number of scan retries. The default is 5.
Scan retry poll rate (in seconds). The default is 60.
7. Check Scan Idle, if necessary, to enable specification of a Time between alerts
(in seconds) value. The default is 3600.
8. The Count radio button is automatically selected, since context switches per
second are being counted.
9. Specify values for:
High Threshold Warning. The number of context switches per second that
would initiate a warning (less severe than an alarm). The default is 10,000.
High Threshold Alarm. The number of context switches per second that
would initiate an alarm. The default is 15,000.
Low Threshold Warning and Low Threshold Alarm are grayed out for this instance.
10. Put your changes into effect by following the procedure in
Effective" on page

Configuring CPU Usage

To configure CPU Usage
1. On the Express5800/320Ma Monitored Instances tab, select CPU Usage in the
Select Instance box
2. If Enable alerts for selected instance is not checked, check it. For CPU Usage,
this setting is unchecked by default.
3. In Scan poll rate (in seconds), enter the number of seconds to scan the instance.
The default is 300.
