Woks

This appliance is particularly suitable
for wok cooking.

Pans

– For safety and stability, always use
the trivet for pans with a base
diameter of less than 16 cm. Do not
use on the pan support alone.
When using smaller pans you should
always turn the hob control to the
lowest setting. If it is too high, flames
can lick up the sides of the pan!
– Wide, shallow pans are preferable to
tall, narrow ones. They will heat up
faster.
Using the gas hob
– Pans with thick bases are preferable
as these distribute heat more evenly.
With thin bases, there is a danger of
food overheating in places. Stir the
food frequently.
– Any heat-resistant pans can be used
on a gas burner.
– Remember when purchasing new
pans that manufacturers usually refer
to the diameter at the top of the pan
in their documentation.
– Use a pan lid whenever possible to
minimise heat loss.
