You will either hear a fax tone or the
other party will speak to you.
If you hear a fax tone, press the
START/COPY key.
If the other party first speaks with you
and then wants to send a document,
press the START/COPY key after
speaking.

Hang up when RECEIVING appears in
the display. When reception is comple-

ted, the buzzer will sound.
Note:
As a back-upfeature of manual reception mode, you can set the UX-I14to automatically
receiv'efax transmissions after 4 rings. This is useful if j'ou are occasionally unable to
respond to an incoming call personal>. The setting is made with User Switch 3. See
Chapter 6, "Optionalsettings".
In automatic reception mode, the UX-114 automatically answers all calls and
receives the incoming documents.
You can change the number of rings after which the machine answers incoming calls with
User Switch 2 (see Chapter 6, "Optionalsettings"). 1 or 4 rings maybe selected.
You can speak with the otherpar~ by picking up the handset before the machine
answers. To receit~ea document afterwards, press the STARTICOPY key and hang up.
After receiving a document, grasp the paper by the edge and pull upwards to
tear it off.
