Troubleshooting
Should any problem persist a_r you have made these d_ecks, consult your nearest SoT
dealer. Ret_r to "Messages"
(page 62) as well.
Cause/Solution
Symptom
The recorder does
not work or works
poorly.
• Audio sources may not be securely connected.
Disconnect
the audio sources once and connect them again
(pages 18, 25).
• The HOLD function is turned on ("HOLD"
appears in the
display when you press an operation
button on the recorder).
On the recorder, disable ttOLD by sliding the ttOLD
switch
m the opposi|e
direction of|he
arrow (pages 16, 47).
• The lid is not firmly closed,
Close the lid until it clicks.
• Moisture has condensed
inside the recorder.
•,_ Take the MD out and leave the recorder in a warm place tbr
several hours until the moisture evoporates.
• The dry bottery is weak ("LoBATT"
flashes or nothing
appears).
•'_ Replace the dry battery with the new one (page 15), or
connect _he supplied AC power adaptor to 1he recorder.
• The dry battery have been inserted
incorrectly.
•'_ inser_ the battery correctly
(page 15).
• You pressed a button while _he disc indication
was rotating
quickly.
Wait until |he indication
rotales slowly.
• When recording digitally
from a portable CD ployer, you did not
use the AC power adaptor or did not disable the anti-skip
function such as ESP (poge 20).
• The analog recording
was made using a connecting
cord wi_h an
attenuotor.
•'_ Use a connecting
cord without an attenuator
(page 25).
• The AC power adaptor was unplugged
during recording
or a
power outage occurred.
• While operating,
1he recorder
received a mechanical
shock, too
much static, abnormal
power voltage caused by lightning,
etc.
•'_ Restart 1he operation
as follows.
t Disconnect
all 1he power sources.
2 Leave the recorder
for about 30 seconds.
3 Connect the power source.
• The disc is damoged or does not contain
proper recording or
editing data.
•'_ Reinsert 1he disc. Rerecord the disc. lf_he error message still
appears, replace it with anolher disc.
