Engine fails tostart
Engine runs e rratically
1. PTO/Blade
Engage lever engaged.
2. Parking brake n ot e ngaged.
3. Spark plug w ire(s) disconnected.
4. Throttle/Choke
controJ lever not i ncorrect
starting position.
5. Choke not a ctivated
6. Fuel tank empty, orstale fuel.
7. Blocked fuel l ine.
8. Faulty spark plug(s).
9. Engine flooded.
10. Blown F use(s).
1. Place l ever indisengaged
(OFF) position.
2. Engage parking brake.
3. Connect
wire(s) tospark plug(s).
4. Place Throttle/Choke
lever into the FAST p osition.
11. Safety switch(s) not p roperly engaged.
1. Unit r unning with CHOKE activated.
2. Spark plug w ire(s) loose.
3. Blocked fuel l ine orstale f uel.
5. Move t he Throttle/Choke
lever into the Choke
position.
6. Fill t ank with clean, fresh ( less t han 30days o ld) g as.
7. Replace the fuel l ine and replace fuel f ilter.
8. Clean, adjust gap orreplace plug(s).
9. Crank engine with throttle inFAST position.
10. Replace Fuse(s)

1. Deactivate
theCHOKE.
2. Connect spark plug wire(s).
3. Replace the fuel l ine; filltank with clean, fresh
gasoline and replace fuel f ilter.
4. Clear vent orreplace cap ifdamaged.
5. Drain f uel t ank. Refill with clean, fresh g asoline.
6. Replace aircleaner paper element orclean f oam
pre-cleaner,
ifequipped.
Fill c rankcase
with proper amount and weight ofoil.
Clean grass c lippings and debris from around the
engine's cooling fins and housing.
Remove
spark p lug and reset the gap.
Replace spark p lug. Set p lug g ap.
Replace aircleaner element and/or clean p re-
cleaner.
1. Tighten blade a nd spindle.
2. Replace blade.
1. Place throttle inFAST ( rabbit) position.
2. Donot m ulch when g rass iswet.
3. Mow once a tahigh c utting height, then mow again
atdesired height ormake a narrower
cutting swath.
4. Sharpen orreplace blade.
1. Perform side-to-side
deck a djustment.
2. Sharpen orreplace blade.
3. Check tire pressure inall f our t ires.
