Safety Interlock Switches
Thesafetyinterlock systemisdesigned for safeoperationofthe tractor.Ifthis
systemshouldevermalfunction, d o not operate the tractor.
Immediately contact1-800-4-MY-HOME to havethe system serviced.
Thesafetyinterlocksystem prevents theenginefrom startingunless
the parkingbrakeisengaged andthe PTO (BladeEngage) l everisinthe
disengaged (OFF) p osition.
Thesafetyinterlocksystem will automatically shutoff the engineif the
operatorleaves the seatbefore engaging the parkingbrake.
Thesafetyinterlocksystem will automatically shutoff the engineif the
operatorleaves the tractor'sseatwiththe PTO (BladeEngage) leverengaged,
regardless o fwhetherthe parkingbrakeisengaged.
Theenginewill automatically shutoff if the PTO (BladeEngage)lever is
movedinto the engaged (ON) p ositionwith the shiftleverin Reverse.

DeckLift Lever
Found onyourtractor'srightfender,the decklift leveris usedto change the height
of thecutting deck.Touse,movethe leverto the left, then placeinthe notchbest
suitedfor yourapplication.
PTO(Blade Engage)Lever
Found onthe tractor'sright fender, t he PTO (blade engage) leveris usedto
engage powerto thecutting deck. T ooperate,movethe leverall the wayforward.
Movingthe leverall the wayrearwardintothe PTO OFF positiondisengages p ower
to the cuttingdeck.
NOTE: ThePTO (bladeengage) l evermustbe inthe disengaged (PTO OFF) position
whenstartingthe engine.
FuelFill Cap
TheFuelFillCap islocatedbelowthe seat.Refer t o the Assembly sectioninthis
manual f orinstructions on fuelingthistractor.
Oil Fill Cap
TheOilFillCap is located belowthe seat.Referto the Assembly s ectioninthis
manual f orinstructions on checking andaddingoil to thistractor.
Fuel Fill Cap
Thegasoline tank islocatedunderthe seat.Donot overfill.
Use extremecarewhen handlinggasoline.Gasoline i sextremelyflammable
andthe vaporsareexplosive.Neverfuel machineindoorsor while the
engine ishotor running. Extinguishcigarettes,cigars,pipes, a ndother
sources of ignition.

Donotoperate the tractor if the interlock systemismalfunctioning. This
systemwasdesignedfor your safetyand protection.
Ignition Switch
Theignitionswitchisactivatedtostart the engine.Insertkeyinto the ignition
switchandturn clockwise to the START position.Release t he keyinto the ON
positiononceenginehasfired. SeeFigure 21.
Tostopthe engine,turnthe ignitionkeycounterclockwise to the OFF position.See
Figure 21.
Neverleavea running machineunattended.AlwaysdisengagePTO, m ove
shift leverinto neutralposition,set parking brake,stop engine andremove
keyto prevent unintendedstarting.
