Air Filter Service
Paper f ilterscannotbe cleaned andshouldbereplaced every100operatinghours;
moreoften if usedinextremely dustyconditions.
OilFilter
Neverusegasolineor low flash pointsolventsfor cleaningthe air filter
element. Afire or explosioncouldresult.
Donot usepressurized air or solventsto cleanthe air cleaner
cartridge.
If filters, or coversarenot installedcorrectly seriousinjuryor death
could resultfrom backfire. Donot attempt to start the engine with them
removed.

IMPORTANT: Besuretocheck engineon alevelsurface with the enginestopped.

Wipearounddipstickcapandtubewith acleanclothto remove anydebris.

Unscrew the thumbscrews andremove the air filter cover. S eeFigure 25.

Remove d ipstickandwipecleanwith acloth.
3.
Pouroil into the dipstick tube. Donot overfill. Withan oil filter changethe
high level a mountofoil for thisengineis1700ml(57.48 fl-oz.).
4.
Installdipstick andturn to locked positionbefore startingengine.
5.
Startengine. A llowto runforafewseconds andthenshutdownthe engine.
6.
Check t he oil level.See Checking Oil Level i nthe Assembly s ectionof this
manual.
