A new 8cm DVD-R. DVD-RW. er
DVD+RW is required for recording (p. 16).
• Remove dust or fingerprints from the disc
beforehand, usingthecleaning cloth supplied
with your camcorder (p. 131 ).

/ Check that the power of your
camcorder is on.
• You can rclnove lhe disc when a power source
is connected to your canlcorder even when
your canlcorder is nlrned off, However. the
disc recognition process (step 4) does not
start.
/ Slide the disc cover OPEN switch
in the direction of the arrow
(OPEN I_).
[PREPARING TO OPEN] appears on the
LCD screen. Then the opening meledy
sounds once. and the camcorder beeps.
Alter the beeps stop, the disc cover opens
slightly automatically.

• Be caretul not to obstruct the operatkm with your
hand or other ot_jects, elc.. when opening or
closing the disc cover. Move the belt lo the botlonl
of lhe camcorder, thin1 open or close lhe disc
cover,
• If you catch the belt when closing the disc corm:,
il may callse your Call/corder lo mallunction.

Set the disc with the recording side
facing your camcorder, then press
the center of the disc until it clicks,
Set the disc wifll tim label side hcing out
when using a single-sided disc.
• Do not touch tile disc with tile recording side or
pickup lens (p. 138).
When using a double-sided disc, take carc nol lo
smudge the sudhce wilh lingerprims.
• If you close the disc cover with lhe disc set
incorrectly,
